The family of a British couple detained in Iran say they are “desperately worried” following reports they have been denied supplies and medical care.
Craig and Lindsay Foreman have refused food for nine and eight weeks, respectively, over their prison conditions, the family says.
Lindsay Foreman has lost more than 14kg (31lb) and is suffering severe vertigo, tremors and profound physical weakness, according to the Human Rights Activists News Agency (Hrana).
She is now “dangerously weak”, the family says.
The US-based agency has also reported Craig Foreman – who first went on strike when phone access was cut off – has lost about 16kg (35lb).
In a letter published on Tuesday, the family wrote to the East Sussex couple: “Please remember that you are loved by so many people.
“We need your voices, your presence, your laughter, and your company.
“We need you well. We need you alive.”
