Thursday horse racing tips

Warwick

• 2.30: Benign Dictator 9/1 each-way (0.5pt)
• 3.00: Kosasiempre 9/2 (1pt)

Perth

• 1.40: Viscountess Nelson 1/1 (1pt)

Benign Dictator

Could make a case for a couple of these but this Olly Murphy-trained horse stands out for his price in a fairly small field of hurdlers.

He won here in December off 2lb lower and has a very solid record at this course in general over a variety of distances.

He’s now just 2lb higher than when winning here on New Year’s Eve but with the added benefit of a 10lb claimer in Tom Hutsby.

The amateur jockey has had four rides in the last two weeks, but notably two second place finishes including on one Olly Myrphy trained horse.

If he were 8lb lower than his last win you’d assume he’d be well-weighted to strike again at a course he does well at with previous efforts not going well but off a much higher weight than today’s.

Kosasiempre

Party Vibes has won twice this term but been disappointing on her other three outings, so it’s no surprise she’s been cautiously raised in the weights by the handicapper.

Doesn’t look as effective over this trip though and some of her rivals are better suited to 3m.

Not many of these mares are run over this trip primarily with most going over two and a half.

Holetown is unexposed at this trip and should have more to offer upped in distance but has been a very busy horse for a six-year-old with plenty of races in France since 2023 and you’d have thought we’d seen this move to 3m before.

However, Kosasiempre has solid form on good ground, this trip, and consistently performs at this distance, placing in the top four in all of her last four such starts.

Hasn’t been seen over fences since placing fourth of ten at Hereford in a race dominated by the winner Lady Balko.

Comes up against plenty of horses with question marks attached and some dangers of unexposed, but is a solid choice off this low weight.

Viscountess Nelson

Tipped this mare on her latest outing as she looked very dangerous upped in trip and she nearly justified the backing at a solid price of 5/2 but was just beaten by a length.

That was her first start over hurdles and has that experience along with a point to point win that suggests still there’s more to come.

Now faces a four-year-old filly who won her maiden and hurdle debut at Clonmel earlier this month with champion jockey deployed.

But age, experience and only 3lb higher is set to suit this powerful mare.
