Charley Hull recalled the moment she suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction whilst competing in Canada.
The 30-year-old, who has three LPGA Tour wins to her name, was left red faced but admits it was all her own doing.
Hull was taking part in the 2015 Canadian Pacific Women’s Open when she realised the importance of maintaining a healthy diet.
âI was so skinny growing up and when I got to about 18 or 19, I started going out drinking cider and I didnât understand what a hangover was,â Hull told Vanity Index Podcast.
âWhenever I had a hangover, Iâd eat loads of unhealthy food and I put on loads of weight.
âThe first week of Adam Woodward caddying for me, I think we finished sixth. So we had a good week.
Awkward situation
âBut coming down the 15th hole I hit this shot and one of my trousers was tight for me where Iâd put on a bit of weight.
âMy button flew off as I hit this shot. The cameraman recorded it as the zipper went down as well.
âI was like âOh no, this is on live TV.â
âThe cameraman has had to radio into the other cameraman to get a little pin so I can pin my trousers together to finish the golf round with.â
Once stitched back up, Hull went on to finish nine under and tied for seventh with Lydia Ko claiming victory.
Hull has since become a self-proclaimed fitness freak, often going viral for her impressive workout regime.
She is currently ranked No. 4 in the world and has been a leading figure in womenâs golf since turning professional back in 2013.
Despite such longevity, Hull admits she doesnât watch regular PGA Tour events on television, describing them as âboringâ.
But thatâs not the case when it comes to Majors.
âI much prefer that (Majors),â Hull said on Tuesday at the Chevron Championship.
âI think thatâs the way golf should be. Itâs way more interesting.
âI donât really watch golf, but when I watch the menâs golf I watch the majors and I enjoy it a lot more when theyâre struggling on the golf course. I think itâs a lot more fun.â
She then explained that the golf played at most pro tournaments has turned into a driver-wedge game.
âItâs quite boring watching a birdiefest,â she added. âAll you see is hitting a long drive, hitting a wedge on the green and holding a putt.
âItâs nice to see golf be played as an art, like when they have to create shots. I much prefer that. Thatâs why I preferred golf 20, 30 years ago.â
