Arthur Fery has continued his fairy tale Wimbledon run by advancing into his first Grand Slam semi-final.
The British star beat Italy’s Flavio Cobolli – the ninth seed at the All England Club – 6-4, 7-6, 6-0 in straight sets on Wednesday.
He will now pit this wits against French Open champion Alexander Zverev for a place in Sunday’s final.
Fery has become just the fifth British man in the Open Era to reach the singles semi-finals at Wimbledon.
Along with the 23-year-old, Andy Murray, Tim Henman, Roger Taylor and Cam Norrie are the other Brits to achieve the feat.
As he has been for the whole tournament so far, wildcard Fery was the underdog going into his quarter-final tie with Cobolli.
The 24-year-old – into his second successive last-eight match at SW19 – has been in great form in 2026.
He lost a five-set thriller to Zverev in the final at Roland Garros in May – one of three ATP Tour finals he has reached this calendar year.
But the Florence native, who won the Mexican Open in February, was no match against his French-born opponent on Centre Court.

Fery has now become the first male wildcard to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals since Goran Ivanisevic in 2001.
And Fery will be hoping that proves to be a good omen as Ivanisevic ended up triumphing in what was his only Grand Slam of his career.
His run to the semis has also banked Fery a whopping £900,000.
Heading into Wimbledon, Fery had only won £649k from his career to date.
He is now set to jump into the world’s top 40 in the rankings as a result of his latest win.
Prior to the tournament, the youngster had been ranked 114th in the world.
In the Open Era, Fery is also fourth on the list in recording the fewest ATP-level match wins [11] en route to making their maiden Grand Slam semi-final.
