The 2026 PGA Championship will reach a thrilling conclusion today with a host of stars in contention in Philadelphia.
Alex Smalley – who has never won a professional event – holds a two-shot lead heading into the final round.
But there are 21 players within fours shots of the leader including stars like Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm, Ludvig Aberg, Justin Rose and Patrick Reed.
The tricky greens, deep rough and slow pace of play have meant low scoring in Pennsylvania so far but the PGA of American may set the course up slightly easier for Sunday’s final round.
The PGA Championship is famous for having the deepest field in golf, meaning whoever wins at Aronimink will have earned it.
And some big names have been dumped out early including Bryson DeChambeau, Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland and Robert MacIntyre.

Course info for 2026 PGA Championship
Aronimink Golf Club has been off the major tournament rotation for several decades, but is a historic course in America.
It last hosted a major in 1962 when Grand Slam legend Gary Player won the PGA Championship.
It has held several PGA Tour events in recent years, as well as the 2020 Women’s PGA Championship.
Established in 1896, the Donald Ross-designed course underwent a Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner renovation in 2018 and is a clever mix of shorter, strategic par 4s, two gettable par 5s and a string of brutal par 3s.
It has over 200 bunkers and is laid out over very hilly terrain and is notorious for having some of the hardest greens anywhere.
The notable holes include the first, which plays through a valley and steeply up to the green, as well as the picturesque 5th hole, the challenging 546-yard 15th par-4 and the stunning 17th par-3 over water.
For this major, only one of the four par 3s will play below 216 yards, while the finishing hole has been lengthened for the event and will be a tricky finale.
Aronimink is famous for its row of deck chairs overlooking the 18th green – it remains to be seen who will get to sit in the best seats in the house coming tournament week.
