That familiar Play-Doh squish and smell you remember from childhood is getting a grown-up makeover. Hasbro just launched Blooms by Play-Doh, the brand’s first-ever line designed specifically for adults.
The kits allow you to reimagine the classic compound as a way to craft realistic-looking floral arrangements you’d actually want to display in your home. Check out more details below.
Everything you need to know about Blooms by Play-Doh
Each of the Blooms by Play-Doh kits walks you through shaping petals and building a full bouquet. Every kit comes with Play-Doh, tools that help you create the flowers and a vase. They also include a specially formulated finishing spray that helps the flowers hold their shape for months — no watering required. Think of the Lego’s botanical line, just with a different medium and building experience. Both remind you of your favorite childhood toys, and the result is a beautiful piece of decor for your adult home.
There are currently six different kits available — each with a slightly different floral theme — and they range in price between $25 and $40. You can purchase them at Target, Walmart and Amazon. You can also purchase refills for each kit to make even more blooms. It is worth noting that none of these retailers have the full collection — meaning Target has some kits, Amazon has others and Walmart has a few.
Beginning July 16, you’ll also be able to purchase some items from the line on TikTok. And if you need help building them, Play-Doh offers video tutorials on their YouTube channel.
Check out the kits that are currently available below. Note: Though they’re meant for adults, that doesn’t mean you can’t use them with your kids and create meaningful experiences for their childhood, too.
Shape 20 floral-scented Play-Doh blooms in white yellow, and pink shades using the included tool set from this kit, which helps you make common garden flowers. Then, add greenery, let them dry, seal with the finishing spray and arrange them in the clear vase for lasting desk decor.
This smaller kit allows you to create a petite wildflower bouquet with 12 blooms in six soft colors. Rather than a plunger tool, this one comes with a roller that helps you make the blooms. Like with all the kits, you just need to seal it with the spray to keep your arrangement intact.
Craft a 20-bloom bouquet of blue, pink, purple, white, and yellow rose blossoms. This kit also comes with five faux stems of greenery and can be displayed in the included vase.
This kit’s plunger tool presses out clusters of tiny blossoms in blue, pink, purple, white, and yellow, the bouquets resemble a wildflower field. Hand-shaped accents and greenery round it out before you seal it and add the stems to your vase.
This kit lets you craft delicate bluebells in soft periwinkle hues that look like a lifelike petite bouquet. The charming arrangement makes an elegant, handcrafted accent for a shelf, desk, or nightstand.
A romantic wash of blush pinks make up this larger bouquet. The blossoms are soft and rounded and sit atop the slender stems for a stunning look. The finished product is big enough to be a statement piece on a table or bookshelf.
