Xander Zayas could end up getting a second crack at Jaron Ennis after their enthralling fight on Saturday night.
Ennis put on a world-class display at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, as he blasted away Zayas in the seventh round to claim the WBA and WBO super welterweight titles.

Eddie Hearn lifts lid on rematch clause
“It’s not common knowledge, but Xander has a rematch clause,” Hearn told assembled media.
“I believe he will probably move to 160lbs, but, interestingly, he said in the ring tonight , ‘I didn’t struggle at the weight. I felt pretty good.’
“He might look back, and maybe he looks at the third round.
“I know he has the right to exercise it, but at the same time he took a lot of punishment.
“And I think Boots will be much better next time because, as much experience as he has in terms of fights, that was his first real moment in the madness.
“He will learn a lot from that tonight; he has only just turned 29.”
Xander Zayas moving to middleweight?
While Zayas insists he still feels good at super welterweight, it will become harder for him to make the weight as his body matures.
The 23-year-old is already a very big 154lber, and rehydrates at around 180lbs before stepping into the ring.
Middleweight is also one of the weaker divisions in boxing.
Zayas would be among the strongest candidates to unify the major sanctioning body belts.
At present, 43-year-old Erislandy Lara holds the WBA’s version of the world title, while Carlos Adames is the WBC champion.
Janibek Alimkhanuly was stripped of the IBF belt after failing a pre-fight drug test for a unification clash with Lara, but is bizarrely still in possession of the WBO strap while serving an active ban.
The vacant IBF title is being contested between Aaron McKenna and Etinosa Oliha on August 8 in Dublin, Ireland.
