The all-new Cadillac Championship will make its debut on the PGA Tour this week as the world’s best battle in the $20million Signature Event.
Trump National Doral’s mammoth Blue Monster Course is a new addition to the schedule and will put the pros to the test.
The course is close to 7,800 yards long and boasts a 667-yard par-5 and a trio of par-3s all well over 215 yards.
While extreme length is not always popular, the Blue Monster should provide a unique challenge, especially given the vast amount of water hazards on the course.
World number one Scottie Scheffler will be the front-runner for glory, but Rory McIlroy is missing again.

Cadillac Championship 2026: Field and tee times
The Cadillac is the newest Signature Event on tour, meaning there will be a limited 72-player field at the Blue Monster with no midway cut.
McIlroy is not playing, while world number three Matt Fitzpatrick has decided to take a week off too, following his back-to-back victories in the RBC Heritage and Zurich Classic.
Matt’s brother Alex will tee it up in Miami after securing his tour card with their glory in New Orleans.
Scheffler will be favourite while Tommy Fleetwood, Cam Young, Collin Morikawa and Justin Rose are in the field.
Xander Schauffele, Robert MacIntyre, Ludvig Aberg and Jason Day have decided against making an appearance.
The full field, tee times and groupings can be found here, with the latest leaderboard from Doral found here.
The prize pot for this event is set at $20million, with the winner taking home $3.6m.
Cadillac Championship 2026: Is Rory McIlroy playing?
Masters champion McIlroy is not in the field yet again this week.
McIlroy has not played since securing back-to-back victories at Augusta National.
He was expected to return to action for the Cadillac Championship but will now seemingly wait until next week at the Truist Championship at Quail Hollow, one of his favourite venues and another Signature Event.
No official reason has been given for his absence this week, but he has previously stated he is scaling back his commitments this year to focus on the biggest events.
The six-time major winner will headline the upcoming 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club, which starts on May 14.
McIlroy’s decision to skip another Signature Event – his ninth snub since their introduction in 2023 – has not gone down too well with some of his peers.
PGA Tour star Michael Kim posted on social media over the weekend: “I hope to get to a point where I decide to skip a signature event even when healthy.”
