Recently, the team’s official X account posted a video of the club, and a general exterior shot of the stadium using AI.
AI-generated fans are depicted enjoying the AI-generated luxury suites and club sections before cutting to an AI-generated view of the field and the ballpark exterior.
Predictably, the response to the video has been overwhelmingly negative.
“You guys might be the worst marketers I have ever seen. Unfathomable levels of slop,” one said underneath the video.
“When I close my eyes and think about baseball, I literally think the exact opposite of this,” a second vented his frustration.
“Should be calling them the Las Vegas Ai’s, what a sloppy video,” A third said.
“Go generic green and yellow team because we couldn’t even be bothered to ask AI to put them in fan gear,” a fourth sarcastically mocked.
It’s hard to imagine that fans will splash the cash and spend money on joining the Athletic club without a proper look at what it comes with.
After all, the statement that it wants to set a new standard of baseball hospitality means it will be an exclusive club that will cost a good amount to be a part of.
Around 300 season tickets will be available for the Athletic club, and those interested will be hoping for a less AI-heavy depiction next time.
