Kash Ali has thrown his hat in the ring to face Anthony Joshua this summer.
The Watford powerhouse is currently finalising a two-fight deal with Saudi boxing mogul Turki Alalshikh, culminating in a long-overdue clash with Tyson Fury at the back end of the year.
Before he locks horns with Fury, AJ is set to step back between the ropes in July to blow off the cobwebs in a warm-up fight.
Joshua last fought in December when he knocked out YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
Days later, he was involved in a fatal car crash in Nigeria that killed two of his close friends and left Joshua with minor injuries.
After returning to training camp with Oleksandr Usyk, the former unified heavyweight champion is now on the lookout for an opponent to tune him up for Fury.
And Ali believes he is the man for the job.
“This is a direct message to Anthony Joshua,” began a callout video posted on Ali’s Instagram.
“I heard you are looking for an opponent [before] your Tyson Fury fight.
“Eddie Hearn, send me the contract. I can take this fight in July.
“This is war, I don’t fear any man. Let’s do this in July. I’ll be there.”
Who is Kash Ali?
25-fight (22-3) veteran Ali is undoubtedly best known for his infamous fight with David Price in 2019.
After both men tumbled to the canvas in the fifth round of a fight Price was comfortably winning, Ali bit the Liverpudlian on his torso.
Referee Mark Lyson, who had already taken a point from Ali for hitting his adversary on the back of the head, then waved off the fight after spotting a deep bite mark on Price’s upper abdomen.
Ali was subsequently slapped with a six-month suspension by the British Boxing Board of Control and was fined £10,000 for the offence.
The Rotherham boxer would then fade into obscurity until 2024, when he was matched with Joe Joyce for another high-profile domestic dust-up.
There was far less controversy this time, with Joyce going on to knock out Ali in the dying embers of the 12th round.
The highest point of his fairly unremarkable career is a Central Area title, won in 2018 against David Howe.
