Christian Eriksen was ‘doing well’ after collapsing during Denmark’s friendly with Ukraine.
Eriksen clutched his chest and fell to the ground in the 65th minute.
The 34-year-old lost consciousness momentarily, but was able to walk off the pitch.
He will now undergo further tests in hospital.
The international friendly was subsequently abandoned. Neither Denmark or Ukraine have qualified for the World Cup.
“The most important thing is that Christian is doing well and he is, he has left the field, and he has sent his regards to the players,” Denmark manager Brian Riemer said.
“Now it’s about us standing together, as you could see that we did in the most dignified way on the field.
“So it’s about standing together now and of course ensuring that everyone has a shoulder to lean on from here.”
Man United wrote on X: “Everybody at Manchester United is encouraged by Denmark’s update on Christian Eriksen following today’s abandoned friendly against Ukraine.
“The club is sending strength and love to Christian and the Eriksen family as we await further news.”
Spurs also wrote: “Our thoughts are with Christian Eriksen and his family. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery, Christian. We’re all with you.”
