And it appears their friendship is still strong, as Savinho later responded with a message of his own.
Just minutes after Simons shared the picture of the two in his Instagram story, the Brazil international responded to another one of the Dutchman’s posts.
The City star commented: ‘Papi’ underneath a series of images Simons had shared documenting his recovery from injury.
