AC Milan have joined the list of clubs interested in outgoing Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, talkSPORT understands.
Milan are on the lookout for a new manager, having sacked Massimiliano Allegri after missing out on the Champions League.
The Italian giants finished fifth in Serie A this season, only qualifying for next season’s Europa League.
Iraola is now on their list of potential replacements, with the Spaniard also holding talks with Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen.
Allegri has departed Milan as part of a group of key senior staff being sacked, following the club’s poor season.
CEO Giorgia Furlani, director Igli Tare and head of scouting Geoffrey Moncada are all leaving, as well as the manager.
And as part of the fresh start, Iraola is a contender to take over as boss, with the Spaniard becoming a free agent this summer.
He led Bournemouth to a club high sixth-place finish in the Premier League this term, impressively securing the Cherries a spot in the Europa League, where they could take on Milan.
But the 43-year-old had already announced in April that he would be leaving the club after three years this summer.
Marcos Rose is going to take his place, but Iraola’s future remains unconfirmed amid links to clubs across Europe.
Crystal Palace have made it clear to Iraola that he is their no.1 target to replace the outgoing Oliver Glasner.
Talks have taken place between the two parties, while Bayer Leverkusen have also been in negotiations, with their boss Kasper Hjulmand expected to leave in the coming weeks.
Onto a new challenge
Iraola was on the touchline for his final Bournemouth game against Nottingham Forest on Sunday, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
He took charge of 127 games as Cherries manager in total, winning 48, drawing 38 and losing 41 of his matches.
“The champagne is in the changing room, we were celebrating like we should,” he said after securing European football in his last game.
“I enjoyed every second with the fans, with the players, it is so nice to finish like this and to have something to celebrate.
“I have seen a lot of people who have supported me these three years… it’s half-term for the kids, I will stay in Bournemouth until July.
“Tomorrow, I will celebrate with the staff, I will go home at least for one week and take my time to make this decision [on what’s next].”
