Chinese tennis star Zheng Qinwen broke down in tears during her press conference after losing in the first round of the French Open.

“[Losing in the] Roland Garros first round is really, really tough for me.
“It will take some time to handle it.”
Zheng’s emotions will have also been impacted by her coach, Pere Riba, being involved in a car crash just ten days ago.
Riba was spotted in the stands at Roland Garros wearing a neck brace after suffering neck and back injuries.
Dropping in rank
The first-round loss at the French Open means Zheng is set to drop out of the WTA top 100-ranked players in the world.
However, the 23-year-old believes that the drop could be positive.
“I didn’t pay too much attention to my ranking,” she admitted.
“But of course I need to start all over again, and that is going to be different.
“But I think it will also be kind of a positive for me because I get to play a lot of matches.
“I think the problem was I needed more matches to get into the rhythm.”
Zheng will hope to recover from her shock French Open defeat and bounce back heading into the summer.
Meanwhile, Chwalinska is heading into the second round where she’ll face Belgian Elise Mertens.
