It may be a surprise to see the isolated structure as elite golfers make their way around the 18, but it has become a staple.

And here are some more details around it…

Why is there a house in the middle of Aronimink?

Situated between the 7th and 11th greens at Aronimink is the white farmhouse.

The building features white stones walls, slate roofs, a porch supported by white polls and several windows that have been boarded up.

It will sit empty during the championship, instead being used for storage and the location of the course’s lightning alarm.

Golfers including Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffer will have to walk straight past it as they prepare to putt on the holes either side of the turn.

Aronimink was established in 1896 in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania and was designed by Donald Ross.

It underwent renovation works in 2003 and again in 2018 but the white house has always been kept at the heart of the course.
