Jim Miller would love to welcome Conor McGregor back to the UFC.
The 59-fight American veteran scored a record-breaking 28th UFC victory last weekend and has expressed his desire to face McGregor.
Miller submitted Jared Gordon with 90 seconds left in the first round of their clash at UFC 328, extending his professional MMA record to a whopping 39 wins, 19 defeats and one no-contest.
The 42-year-old’s 28 wins in 47 appearances in Dana White’s promotion are the most in promotional history.
Addressing the media in his post-fight press conference at UFC 328, Miller revealed a nasty injury he may have sustained during the fight before name-dropping McGregor.
Miller wants to ‘test’ McGregor
“I think I might have broke my hand, my left hand in the four minutes that we were fighting,” Miller explained.
“But I hear there’s an Irishman looking for a fight and I think that’d be a fun one.
“I think that’d be a fun fight. I’ll test that new ankle he’s got there, that titanium…
“I honestly feel bad for him because he hasn’t had the opportunity to fight in so long.
“[But] yeah, [the UFC] know my number.”
Miller also caught the headlines in the build-up to UFC 328 after revealing his 14-year-old son, Wyatt, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last year.
The American couldn’t hide his emotions speaking to Joe Rogan in his post-fight interview as he revealed that Wyatt is now cancer-free.
UFC CEO White revealed after the event in Newark, New Jersey, that Miller had signed a new five-fight deal with the promotion.
Miller wants to have 50 UFC fights by the end of 2027 before hanging up his gloves once and for all.
Latest on McGregor’s return
McGregor, meanwhile, is expected to make his UFC return this year.
White had said ahead of UFC 328 that he is ‘extremely confident’ the Irishman’s comeback will happen this summer amid rumours of a fight against Max Holloway at UFC 329 in July.
But White wasn’t able to provide any exciting updates on the situation over the weekend.
“There is no deal done with Conor. I was just saying I’m confident. I was confident last year, too, but I’m way more confident this year,” White said after UFC 328.
