The British heavyweight titans are seemingly on the verge of meeting each other in the back end of the year in a domestic dust-up that has been a decade in the making.
Fury (35-2-1) returned to the ring in April to outpoint Arslanbek Makhmudov in his first fight in 16 months and claims to have signed his side of the deal for a bout with AJ.
Joshua (29-4) will take a tune-up fight before boxing Fury to help ease himself back in after his involvement in a tragic car crash in Nigeria that killed two of his close friends.
The Watford powerhouse is currently mulling over a two-fight deal with Riyadh Season that will see him box in July before meeting Fury in November.
When both came the closest to getting the fight over the line back in 2021 at the peak of their powers, Hamed felt that Fury would have been ‘too awkward’ for Joshua.
However, after watching Fury’s most recent performance against Makhmudov, Hamed now thinks he will be held to a draw by Joshua.

“Who do I think is going to win the fight between AJ and Fury? Hamed pondered during a recent appearance on talkSPORT’s talkBOXING Podcast.
“Well, that is the question, and everybody wants to know that.
“Years and years ago, Tyson for me had this awkward style where he could make AJ look silly, that’s the truth.
“Things have changed now. Tyson has seemed to drop back a little bit.
“But you never know with Tyson Fury, maybe one night he can turn up and box amazingly and do what he did to Wilder.
“Those first few rounds [against Makhmudov] I was a little bit disappointed that he didn’t go from the get-go.
“This is going to sound mad to you, but would it be unbelievable if I were to say that it could be a draw?”
Joshua’s opponent for July has yet to be confirmed, although his promoter, Eddie Hearn, has ruled Deontay Wilder as a potential dance partner.
While Joshua is keen to face the American, Turki Alalshikh believes it is too great a risk before a lucrative fight with Fury.
“If we [Matchroom] were promoting the event, I would be going Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury,” Hearn told talkSPORT.
“But this is a deal that has been put to us with the Fury fight as the mountain top.
“There will be a lot of people who won’t want to go into a fight that they feel is risky and put that fight in jeopardy.
“We have no problem fighting Wilder, but I don’t think it will be Wilder under the basis of this deal.”
This outlook is somewhat puzzling considering how poor Wilder looked against Derek Chisora last time out.
