Radek Vitek has swapped the clean sheets for a clean sweep.
The Manchester United loanee has won the Bristol City Player of the Year award after a fan vote, the Players’ Player of the Year award, and the Young Player of the Year award.
The 22-year-old made the move to the West Country in July as an emergency backup.
There, he quickly established himself as manager Gerhard Struber’s – and then Roy Hodgson’s – number one between the sticks.
In 41 appearances, including The Robins’ 2-0 win over Stoke City at Ashton Gate on Saturday, the young Czech goalkeeper took his tally of clean sheets to 12, and conceded 54 goals.
Fans sung “one more year” at Vitek following his final outing of the season, in which Bristol City finished 12th in the EFL Championship table.
“It was amazing. We wanted to finish the season strong and we couldn’t have imagined a better result,” Vitek said after the game.
“It’s been an amazing season for me. There have of course been ups and downs but that is football.
“I want to thank everyone who voted as it means a lot to me as it reflects on the performances and so I really appreciate it.
“The fans have been unbelievable. I could hear them all game singing my name.”
Vitek’s future past this summer uncertain
Vitek is expected to return to Old Trafford next season, but for how long remains to be seen.
“Look, now at the moment it’s really hard to tell for me,” he explained when asked about his future on Friday ahead of the Stoke game.
“I’m focusing on the next game because, like I say, I want to have a proper game tomorrow, win, and [then] we will see what the future holds.
“I think at the moment, basically, it’s go to Manchester United, and we will see what the solution will be there. What does the future hold for me?
“We will see what the options will be and what Manchester United will want to do with me: if they want to keep me there, sell me, loan me. At the moment, I can’t really speak much about the future because I don’t even know.
“It’s really hard, but I’ve enjoyed every moment here. I really like the club. We will see.”
The Red Devils brought in Senne Lammens last summer from Royal Antwerp on an ÂŁ18 million move to be their number one, allowing Andre Onana to leave for Trabzonspor on loan shortly afterwards.
In 28 Premier League appearances, the 23-year-old Belgian shot-stopper has kept six clean sheets and conceded just 35 goals as United sit in command of a return to Champions League football after two seasons.
With Lammens having established himself as United’s undisputed number one, and Vitek showing he is too good to be a backup, the Czech keeper’s future is certainly one to watch.
